I'm trying to install my new head unit but sadly I get nothing when I turn the ignition

Now, I reckon the 2 black bits in both pictures connect together, and then the bit that I have circled in green connects to the head unit, and away I go, or I at least should get something?

I have circled 2 things in red that I have no idea what they do.

Anyone any ideas or am I making a blindingly obvious n00b mistake or missing something?

I think the blue connection is for an electric aerial and the white block for a pre amp but I'm not 100% sure.
The second picture? is it an adaptor for your head unit? as a modern unit would just plug straight into the double ISO(black connection in the centre of picture one)

The red circled plug in the first picture was a negative takeoff point for the LC-1 and XD-16, so nothing to worry about in terms of the HU its just a wiring point i used.

You need to plug the big black block into the smaller black block in picture two (make sure you connect them onto the correct side of the block, otherwise you will be trying to draw power from the speaker wires).....

Smaller black block in picture two plugs into the back of the HU.

In the second picture you should have some small bullet connectors you need to make sure the yellow and red ones on each side of the wire are plugged together, these are for permanant and switched live, read the manual it will tell you which is which.

White block is speaker takeoff points.

You need to install the cage before you connect the last plug into the back of the HU.

The white block connector as said is for your rear speakers(if fitted) and connects the the existing loom like the first block already connected in the dash.

The blue connector on the earth wire(black) is a scotch block and a bodgers best mate. Cut it off and earth it properly otherwise you may get problems in the future.
