Stereotyping

I stereotype people all the time; it allows me to make simple arbitary decisions about them without having to resort to getting to know them. It generally saves a lot of time.

All the time.

I stopped shaving my head due to the number of times people were scared of me (thinking I was a hooligan.)

I'm always being told that I fit the stereotype of a womaniser.. despite not being one at all. Not sure what does this, perhaps my confidence in talking to strangers?

I've also had a similar stereotyping with music - I was talking (read: chatting up) a girl and asked her what music she was into, she told me green day.. I replied "What about a bit of the darker stuff, like maybe SOAD?" "Oh, I love them.. didn't say them because I didn't think you'd have a clue who they are, you look like the typical clubber to me.. no idea if it's not house."

All the time.
When I was younger it was assumed that as I was home educated, I had no social skills and never went out. Back then I was out 3-4 times a week either with the guides, table tennis club, swimming club or football training.

And now, whenever I go into a games store, half the time the member of staff asks me if I'm looking for a game for my boyfriend  It's mainly one games store in particular that are like that so whenever possible I don't buy anything from them. I also get people surprised when I mention I like football and cars.
Can't be helped though, it's usually just off people who can't think outside of their narrow views of what people are 'meant' to do according to their gender or age :)
