Damn you Steve Jobs and your infernal iPhone 4... I was all ready for getting the HTC Desire in Aug when contract is up as i really felt that android was the way to go.. however after seeing all the specs and the iphone video i admit i am inclined to go the Apple road..

Anyone else feeling the same!:(

EDIT: Just seen the other desire to iPhone thread.. ignore this post!

Not even looked at it, don't rate the Iphone at all normally. Plus its normally over priced.

But why o why everytime I see the iPad advert do I want to buy one?

It's a good thing to have as a portable newspaper that self updates

well the new iphone looks quite good, it has a decent screen good cam and hd recording but its still has iphone OS which imho wont even compare to andriod. Plus when you can get a desire for 25pm and free phone there still really isnt much of a comparison given the high price you pay for a iphone ontop of a high priced contract.

by aug the desire will be old hat anyway, there are already better spec'd devices out there

Sadly this will always be the case with the mobile market, so long as HTC are around anyway :p

They've probably already got a monster phone ready to manufacture that is far better than anything else out there.

We'll all be bored of them by the end of June (the novelty value is just still there), eyeing up a new phone in September and getting one in November. ;) That is the way this market operates. Bring on something better. :D

This is why I refuse to look at whats coming out in the next 18months. :p

Hopefully the next one will have a higher res screen, hdmi out and the UK will have better network coverage.

and Froyo, then just the app support needs buffing, which it will be :p

"Multitasking" which is pretty big considering Steve Jobs said they never would go that route (but then he said the same about 3rd party apps) and the "highest resolution screen ever on a phone".

I've always hated iPods and iPhones with a passion until I bought an iPod. The bloomin' things are so expensive but I got a killer 2nd hand deal on the newest iPod generation. I have to say I was blown away, absolutely.

Now being able to test out the iPhone has got my techy head pretty excited about v4. Not that I'd ever buy the latest iPhone until it drastically went down in price... so here's to waiting THREE YEARS!! WOHOOO.

Well My vanilla (but rooted!) Desire will make me some nice monies indeed if HTC release another killer phone in Q4 =]

Until then though I'll be enjoying Android and all things delicious, just not an Apple :p

We already know google's Android roadmap, a OS freeze after FroYo lands on all compatible handsets and during that freeze we're going to see FroYo updates and ooodies being released so things look good, and sharp.

At east for a fair while yet.

If you think about what HTC could do if they "fused" the HTC Desire/Droid Incredible and HTC EVO, later this year we could be looking at a real beast of a phone

Froyo on the above potential phone, and you've got easily the best phone ever. Considering the improved app development coming too.

I hope they do it. I'd be first in line to buy one. :p

I'm still happy with my HTC Hero, £20pm for 600 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet compared to £45 for the iPhone, I don't think so apple. it may be a nice phone but it takes more than "it's an iPhone!" as a reason to change now from Android.

if it was the same price, I'd definitely consider it or marginally close but it won't, and never be so I'll be sticking with Android/WM7.

Also yes I want an iPad, but I will never buy one  (yes I'm that cool)

I'm in exactly the same position OP. really can't decide now. I'll wait to see prices from all of the mobile operators before I show my hand I think.
