I've lost my backplate for Corsair A70 cooler and was wondering what glue would be best for sticking the heatsink to the processor, I was looking at 30 minute epoxy or would super glue be the better option?

I guess the glue would have to be heat resistant as I understand those processors get hot. I am also fed up of my computer shutting down due to overheating as my current stock cooler just isn't up to the job as it aint got a fan on it, something else I lost.
I have tried increasing tjmax to 200c to force the computer to stay on but I think the temps are exeeding even this.

I did once try water cooling by tipping a pint of iced water through the fan grill on top of my case but this caused loads of problems so water cooling is out.

Have a good day everyone.

You serious ? (checks if it is April 1st)

Don't do it you will regret it, contact Corsair and ask for a replacement backplate. If you have a stock heatsink there use that for now, if not go buy a really cheap cooler for now, till you get the replacement backplate.

Which CPU do you have too ? you maybe able to find someone that is not using the backplate you lost and may sell you that on the forums here.

My advice would be to remove the cooler completey, take the side of the case off and use the ball of your foot to absorb the CPU heat.

This should get your temps down a bit and also remove some of that hard skin ;)

Thanks guys, can't believe I dint think of that but having put my foot on it....it brought my temps down to 70c on 100% load. Then That gave me another idea on how to reduce them even further.... I strapped a 120mm fan to my ankle and hey presto, now at 64c on 100% load and idle is a brill 37c.

If you shave your head and place the top of your head onto the cpu, then screw a coolermaster 230mm fan to your face, that'll bring your temps down even further...

May make it difficult to see what your temps are though, you might want help for that :)
