stick with H50 or...?

hi, im currently running on a H50 with one apache black fan. Would i see lowered temps if i change to say... e.g. Noctua D14 or Thermalright Silver Arrow? or would i be better off getting another apache black for push pull and upgrade to the next gen closed loop water coolers? (When they are released)

H80 mate , got it running at 5ghz and the temps on prime are under 75 max.

You would see a massive change getting one of the two air coolers you suggested.

The only real benefits I can see of these closed loop coolers is 1. you have a lack of space for a decent air cooler or 2. some kind of epeen thing, to say you have watercooling

At the end of the day they rely on fans to cool the radiator anyway

This, buy another fan for push pull (or even two to replace the stock fan). and see how you get on. Better to spend £10-15 on a fan than £55+ on a cooler you might not even need.

I also have a H-50 and wondered what the best fans to get are for cooling/noise ratio!

1850rpm Gentle typhoons are a popular choice, personally I went with vipers for my H80, It depends what you want more of, performance or noise. The GT's offer a bit of both, for just noise the apache blacks are pretty quiet.

How much noise compared to Antec 900 fans on full or medium as thats what they are replacing?

thanks for the advice people, think ill get another fan for push pull for the moment, if i do need a new cooler ill sink my teeth into a Silver Arrow

do you really think ppl think that as that is quite sad, i don't think of them as proper water cooling, but they are useful and prefer them over total air coolers.

closed loop coolers work just as well if not better than the best air cooling without the need for 2 kg of metal hanging of the motherboard which dictates which ram you can buy for heights etc etc, buy a second apache for push pull and you will get a decent temp drop

ps, these are the first step to proper watercooling d brennen.....whats epeen got to do with it?
