Sticking with your 480 on order or swapping it out for something else?

Just out of curiosity, are you guys who have RX 480 custom cards on pre-order sticking with it or have you swapped it out for something else? I ask as I have zero patience and had an FTW on pre-order but as soon as I see stock for the Gigabyte Gaming, I swapped out straight away.

Placed a pre-order for a Nitro+OC less than 10 mins after they went up online.

Got a new PC sitting at home waiting for a GPU but I can be patient when I need to be. If I didn't have a PS4 and a few games to clear I'd probably be less patient though.

I'm hoping I'll get one of the first 30 that turns up, even if they are test cards.

I was hoping to get an AIB 480... but DELAYYYYYYY, what the heck AMD? Then I saw the launch for the 1060, and exactly as I expected couldn't find one for love nor money.

In that process I saw a Fury Nitro+ for $275 so ordered that... but due to a stupid screw up to do with quantity's my order got cancelled.

So now I'm back to not having a card, and still not made my mind up which one I want lol.

Depends if Amd get their arse in gear and the aibs aren't fixated on ridiculous Hawaii 290 tri-x sizes coolers for a 150w gpu.
I can only fit 210mm max gpu length in my elite 110.

I was going to buy a ref rx480 and make my own itx shroud and heatsink.
But I'm tempted by the evga 1060 mini now.

Yep. Got the Powercolor Devil on preorder.

Delays are a pain but I think its the right card, recently got a freesync monitor, and I am right at the top of my budget so will wait impatiently.

Sticking. I wont lie, i quite like the AMD cards, i think sapphire also has one of the best looking cards out. Not too keen on many others, on both sides.

I mean, only the 480 and 1060 are in my price range, and due to both being roughly the same, i'm happy to stick with AMD on this.

I'm not in any hurry to get a new card, as long as it works and performs how i expect

Stop pussy footing and just say what you mean-'hey folks, Nv are better, just cancel your 480X's and join the darkside as they have plenty custom cards on offer today.:D

But, probably loads will like I stated earlier on why Nv are King(as long as you stick on DX11:p)

:)

That's what I thought too. :D

Gregster's bias is getting more obvious as he ages. :p:D

You carry on writing the same the last two days. RX480 is better on DX12 and Vulcan, the significant majority of reviewers were pitting the overclocked GTX1060 (FE) against stock RX480 with older drivers also. (last drivers gave a 6% boost across the board).

Let alone the GTX1060 missing SLI support, mid range cards need *-sync, and Gsync is f expensive compared to Freesync. Hell someone can grab an RX480 (Devil, Nitro) and a 1080p Freesync monitor for £350. Some GTX1060s are almost at that price.....

So many Gregster posts recently due to the 1060 launch. What is your job title at Nvidia Greg? Any free 1060 coming your way ;)

And regarding the 480.. The custom 480's are coming in the next week or two so anyone considering a card will do well to wait for the reviews before going for an alternative.
