US army used a superglue type spray on some patients in the Vietnam war to reduce bleeding

yes you can get medical or veterinary superglue (its costs a fortune) normal super glue isn't dangerous but it produces formaldehyde as it cures and will itch and irritate like a bitch.

but if you're super gluing a wound it needs to be clean and to have stopped bleeding if you put it on while theres blood you just end up with instant clotted blood that falls out.

you also greatly increase the risk of infection.

for most things when it happens clean it best you can an cover with a dressing and deal with closing it up when you're back someone where safe and clean to do a proper job.

glueing things up in the field will almost certainly result ina much worse situation later for scaring etc.

steri strips work better for closing though than super glue.

I just use superglue on cuts *shrug*

It seems to work pretty well

Gluing wounds was one of the earlier uses of superglue (although contrary to myth it wasn't invented for it per se). While it's probably ok to use over the counter superglue it's not quite the same as the version medically approved.

When my daughter split open her eyebrow the A&E glued it together (after cleaning it obviously).
