Excuse my ignorance as this is all new to me and if this is not the right place to post, apologies and feel free to remove.

I recently purchased a bundle from here, consisting of an i9 9900k and the Aorus Master. First time round my system died and would no longer Post, only overclock was XMP profile on the RAM.

So sent it all back and technicians said the CPU had gone and will send replacement CPU and return my MOBO and Ram.

Replacements have been running fine, i've not applied XMP or any overclock to the CPU. I just ran a round of BF5 with HWMonitor running. And this is where I may come across as dumb! But what shouted out to me was the Max on the Core clocks running at 4.9GHz I thought the boost would be a lot lower than this at stock timings?

Anyway just a bit nervous I may have to RMA it again and something on my motherboard is frying my CPU.

Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Frequency:
Base Clock: 3.6 GHz
Turbo Clock all cores(max.): 4,7 GHz
Turbo Clock single-core (max.): 5.0 GHz

So it's hitting 4.9GHz per core at some point, and that's being recorded in HWMonitor. You have the (current) 'Usage' tab closed but I assume it's only scaling that high on one core at a time. The pics you posted show historical stats - i.e. the highest clock per core over the whole time the app was running. It doesn't mean they were all at 4.9GHz at the same time. Even if they were, that's OK. I'm sure something like Asus' multicore enhancement would do something similar, and any decent overclock on this chip would hit 5GHz all core. I'm honestly a little confused how you could buy such a high end chip and not know what it's supposed to be capable of (or having not even overclocked it yet :p). It's a K after all. Don't worry and enjoy it.

OK cheers for the info.

I plan to overclock it at some point but just now (today) reading up about it, before I play with anything.

Here's an expanded view of the utilisation tab, but it's clear i need to do lots more research.
