Stock shortages...

Just been browsing the store planning an upgrade and it seems like virtually everything I potentially want is out of stock - motherboards, memory especially.

Annoying to say the least.

If you wait until it's all in stock you will be waiting a while, best thing is to get it ordered and as it comes in to stock it will be held for you until your order is complete.

Probably best to give them a call and get eta's on stuff you may be concerned about.

Blame Windows 7 and everyone upgrading.

You could try to phone them up. Once I did, and found out that despite it being shown as out of stock on the website, they had it in stock.

Placed my order last Tuesday. Was told last Friday when I chased the order up that they were only waiting on the graphics card. Changed the gfx card to a Saphire which was coming in the following day.....then get told today when I chased the order again, that other parts were now out of stock!

I've been promised that some of it will arrive with me tomorrow, so fingers crossed.

I was promised yesterday that the part order would be put on early AM delivery due to the delays with my order.

Guess what.....its been put on normal delivery so could be with me this evening!

I've wasted a weeks holiday from work :mad:

Yeah, but I'm already expecting 4 orders tomorrow (here and competitors), so I wanted to keep the number of places I buy from to a minimum. I am kicking myself now though - was in a bit of a hurry. Anyway it's been done.

yep! i spent £900 on competitor 2 weeks ago cos most of my spec were out of stock at OCUK. shame

I suspect some of the stock shortages are due to supply shortages (IIRC one of the shop guys mentioned that certain things are in short supply generally), and others (looking at external HDD's etc) are probably things being phased out/replaced by new models.

GC's for example seem to be mainly out of stock of the latest models (just released, fairly normal) and those with 3d discover kits, and with motherboards it's mainly gigabyte from a quick glance

Add to that the release of the new OS which often gets people to upgrade
