I believe that if you have enough pre 1992 1/2p's (which had the higher copper content) then the price of 1 tonne of copper would cover the monetary value.
Which begs the question, why would you be looking for dodgy stuff when you're kids are present?
Hell, we may as well just ban the linking to any site on the entire internet, after all if you keep on looking on there you'll find lots more things that you won't want your kids to see!
Sorry but, your preeching to the choir, we don't make these rules, the forum admins and moderators do.
I see threads being closed because there's a link that contains swearies, or that links to something else that has nudity or something else.
So, Azagoth, if those can't pass and are removed from threads, then why not this?

Or the very we;l know site(s) you can purchase things from OcUK do, and are based from where I live.

can no one possibly realise their kids think about bad things and say bad words before their parents want them to no matter what you want to happen. i swear for 99% of kids when they realise what sex is the first thing they'll do is stick www. + "any form or sexual word, swear word, sexual sounding word" .com when they get on the internet.
If the computer has internets it has access to pics of nekkid people doing weird things, any rules against links are completely pointless as pretty much all computers ever made are default set up to start with a homepage with some form of search engine on it. you think kids are going to trawl through dozens of pages of OCUK to find pr0n when the first page their browser opens has INSTANT access to it.
furthermore, no one likes a tattle-tale, no one in the history of the entire god damned universe likes it. Grammer/forum nazi is the approved term for such actions these days, learn that no one likes the bringing up of rules. If a mod deems something bannable/deletable/removeable its his/her choice, not yours. every mod is a different person and interprets rules differently which may or may not be to your taste.
frankly, every single site you link to will in less than 4 links lead to nekkid pictures anyway, so does it matter, i mean, really?
AS to the thread itself, yeah, people have been stealing metals from cabling for, well, as long as they've been in use. people will steal anything, a mate who worked on a building site had a day off as the massive pile of bricks left overnight had been nicked so he had nowt to build with. They told him cement bags, mixers, literally anything can and will be nicked.
What i don't get is, even if they get some stuff, its not like they are getting 10k worth of copper, its not a huge amount, and getting caught ripping copper wiring out of a building vs the amount you get vs the amount of times you'd have to do it for a sustained income = not exactly fantastic income.
