I saw an article on that about a year ago - I think 1p/2ps are worth slightly less than their face value as scrap as they use copper-plated steel now.

You keep on looking there and you'll find things you definitely don't want your kids to see.

Around 10pm on Sunday my phone line died, thought it was just me and logged a call with BT. Found out the following day that the whole of my village was disconnected. Another phone call to BT and it appears a gang of people climbed into a manhole and stole 5 long lengths of copper from the exchange to the village. They then whacked it on a big van and took it somewhere to sell. This is quite a common occurance apparently as it's happened in quite a few places recently.

Estimated fix date is 3rd march but one women i spoke to said there wasn't even an ETA. Such a pain not having the internet anymore but on the plus side i am watching a load of films / series i'd put off for ages.

Can any passing underboss / don let the others know that this is the reason Jodie hasn't been on.

The same length of cable in Alconbury has been done twice: they waited until BT restored the cable, then dragged the new lot out!

Kind of a double standard by the moderation team, you can't swear yet you can link to dodgy websites and discuss all manners of things.

Without having read the thread, can someone please confirm that the intarweb has not, in fact, been stolen?

Thanks :)

There have been reports of parts of the interweb being stolen with clues leading to it being stockpiled in Pakistan

I stripped a few hundred metres of unuseable elliptical waveguide from my old work:-

got a few hundred for it :)

Was a program about people stealing random things that on not so long ago, it had Piers whats his face in it, the guy who presents them programs that catch dodgy salesmen/builders and the like, the amount of obvious stuff he sold to scrappys for cash in hand was mental. Things such as speed signs, drain lids, directional sign posts etc without even a question raised!

Which begs the question, why would you be looking for dodgy stuff when you're kids are present?

Hell, we may as well just ban the linking to any site on the entire internet, after all if you keep on looking on there you'll find lots more things that you won't want your kids to see!

Do children not browse the forum of their own accord, or do they all do so whilst looking over their parents/guardians shoulders?

all they found was a blow torch, a hacksaw, an axe....

and a big pile of ash...
