Afternoon,

My mum had her iPhone stolen on the train last night

She was on the way back from Victoria when a lady in front of her passed out. She stood up to help the lady and put her coat and phone on her seat.

Whilst she was bending down to pick up the lady the scumbag took the phone from under her coat and jumped off the train.

As soon as she got home we tracked her phone with Find My iPhone and got the location where he was 10 mins after he got off the train. Unfortunately this is the last time we were able to track it. Im guessing he either turned it off or something. We went to the location and it was a footpath leading into a large field so nope hope of finding him.

Obviously my mum is fuming, but even more so because there are lots of photos of her first, 2 week old grandson. Unfortunately none of these have been backed up yet so are lost for good. iCloud back up was turned off as well! :(

Now, after doing all the usual stuff we decided to check the recent calls online. He made 5 phone calls , one for 9 minutes, almost as soon as he had left the train.

Is there anything we can do with these numbers to try and track him down? I don't want to call it and start screaming them down the phone as that won't get us anywhere!

Thanks

Hmm, was the passed out woman genuine?

sounds like an elaborate pickpocketing scam to get people to leave their posessions for a moment.

As for making call as soon as he left the train, how did he know the pin?

first thing that needs to be done is call your network...... tell them it is stolen.... as until this is done the owner of the phone is liable for ALL into this point.....

Thanks, we have done all of the usual stuff like calling the network and reporting the phone stolen.

I want to find the Please Fully star all swearwords - Hilly though

icloud turned off with precious once in a lifetime photos, seriously people this is why they have this!

If it had Ios& it cannot be activated without her Apple ID so its useless and it will be IMEI blocked, just move on and get a new one with that insurance!

Should have got an Android - Cerberus. Abused the thief with messages and taken photos of the thief

edit: just read about FindMyIphone part, fair enough.

Android was very late to the phone tracking party... iOS, WP and I think BB have had it built in for years... ;)
