Sorry but I didn't mind the spelling mistake first time, but I kept seeing it and it spread to other people. Started grating :o

I know how you feel. No matter how many times I correct him, a mate at work always calls it Unbuntu. Noooooooooooooooo

Uh oh.

I just installed a second SMP client so my dumps [eww] are going to be delayed. So there may yet be a brief restomp!

However, I feel I have given you a pretty good run :D

Quad core in 2 months!

It's been fun. Stomps are getting too few and far between up here.

And be sure to wipe up any traces of those dumps that might squeeze out while you sleep tonight.

I'll be packing some Glade, just in case :D

Well you have to be civilized about these things dont you! :)

Actually Cob I have just noticed something...

Why is it you are only getting around 3K with four SMP clients?

I am usually in the 2.4K PPD region... you should be almost double my output even if you weren't overclocked.

The couple of posts nearer the start of this thread kind of explain the difference. Tho I'm not completely sure why I only get 50% more points than I was getting with my e6600.

A quad will never give double the preformance of a dual-core based on the same dies. There's some diminishing returns going on. For example, both dies of the quad have to share the same resources as a single die dual-core has to itself. Similar to why SLi doesn't give double the preformance of a single graphics card.

I'm hoping to gain another 15-20% of my old e6600's output when I get a decent quad clocking board tho.

Ahh yeah I didn't think about that. Just thought a difference of about 600PPD was quite small given you are running more clients than I am.

Just had a set back today. I refreshed the stats just now and found that I hadn't been credited with some points even though I finished a WU this morning. Just went through the log and found out not only had it EUE'd at about 80% since about 7am this morning it has been running standard loops! :(

Have found a part in the FaH script where you can add flags, but I don't think it worked.

How many points did you get for the 80%?

I've yet to have an EUE with linux, other than the few caused by my dying Ballistix just before Easter.

I haven't been given any points, none that have shown up anyway.

Not sure why it EUE'd, other than "client core comms error". I think it was only my first or second 1300 pointer. Perhaps it was a little iffy.
