Thats what I can never figure out. Having said that I do think this type of thing is a cultural rather than religious, but surely the two are the same? Anyway cant wait for em to get a nuke.

I recently had an illuminating discussion with a very friendly and articulate Muslim in the USA. They would be regarded as a moderate, very much so. For example, they think other people should have the right to openly follow their own religion.
So I was somewhat surprised when they stated that they absolutely advocated stoning people to death for adultery and whipping them probably to death for sex outside marriage.
I then asked about other Muslim's views on here. No reply.
I think most Muslims support, or at least don't oppose, torturing people or torturing people to death for a variety of things, especially sexual activity not approved of by Islam, but the more moderate Muslims are conflicted about it keep quiet about it, preferring to avoid the issue. A Muslim who does oppose such barbarity has a huge problem - it's stated as being required in the Koran and thus every Muslim must regard it as the Word of God. Stoning isn't in the Koran, but it is in the hadith.

Nazi Germany had a very low crime rate. Was it worth it? Any regime efficient, savage and tyrannical enough will have a very low crime rate.
London is not under Islamic rule. Not yet, anyway. If it was, then yes you could expect stonings and other forms of torturing people (to death or "just" maiming).
