stop messages on new build

getting a load of stop messages. so decided to format. still getting stop messages while trying to install windows. any ideas ?

Is this a new build!
What are your stop messages.

yeah its a new build

asus geforce 8800 gts 512
geil 2gb pc2 6400c4 800mhz low latency ddr2 dual channel kit
abit IP35-e socket 775 pci express ddr2 motherboard

the last stop message said something about memory management. jsut trying the windows install again. this time its

page fault in non paged area

the only old things are hard drive and dvd/rw drive

any ideas how to get rid of these errors so i can complete the windows installation???

one of the errors also says 'the problem seems to be caused by the following file classpnp.sys'

underneath that it says page_fault_in_non_paged_area

Mmmmmm memory!

Try setup with one module only, if it fails, try the other.

And run memtest.

how do i run memtest ?

when i run with just one module i get the error IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

not done the memtest though

Have you set up the voltage and timmings in the BIOS.

i upped ram voltage... its installing up to 60% now usualy stops on about 7. . so far so good

is this the same rig that was overheating?

Hi, the settings are usualy printed on the side of the modules including the timmings.

You may have already found them, thought I post any way

hi . i upped the ram to 2.0v and the errors stopped.
this was the same one that overheated. but we applied some paste and the cpu is at normal temps now. not tried doing anything strenuous but things seem to be ok now.
