My new build pc starts then stops then starts etc..

When I remove the ATX 12v 2x4 plug from the board the PC starts ok and runs but nothing happens on screen and it seem to be on full blast with fans not slowing down to normal speed.

Any suggestions?

ARRGH who'd build thier own PC!!!!

Don't remove it then!!! If it boots (but no outputs/inputs eg. moniter mouse) then I would say it's RAM thats what happened to my shuttle I bought normal RAM not SDRAM for it. Update this with some more info and I should be able to help.

Ive put together a new mobo (gigabyte ep43c ds3), psu (ocz 500w) and case, with my old cpu (intel d 2.8) ram (geil ddr2 black dragon 2gb) and gfx card (ati 9500).

When I switch on the fans startup for 3 secs or so and turn off then turn on again for same and so on. do you think its my older cpu not working with the mobo?

Thanks.

Ive just read that my mobo don't support my current cpu!!!!!!!

Arrrgh I did read elsewhere that it was supported but I would say after trying all that carryon that it just is NOT supported. Damn..I should have check up on more than one site.
