Stopping a graphics card from sagging!

Someone in the projects section of the forum is using a carbon rod from the auction site, straight from the case floor or top of PSU to the underside of the GFX card, looks great, and is cheap :)

OCUK used to sell these

May still be on the webstore or sitting in a large pile in the warehouse :p

I asked about that, but they can't get them. They also won't reach if you have a case with the PSU in the bottom (the first PCIe graphics card ends up higher than the reach of the prop), or if you've got more that one card. In the end I bought one of the cards with a supporting backplate, so there's hardly any sag at all.

I guess you could use some strong fishing line to hold it to the top of the case, or a piece of wood/plastic dowel to prop it from the bottom. Any sort of rod that's non-conductive to be on the safe side.

Go for a case with a rotated motherboard, so mavity pulls parallel with the PCI-E slot rather than perpendicular to it? Silverstone Raven/Fortress, that kind of thing.
