Heh, i've had just over 1200 spams in the last 3 weeks on one of my accounts.

Ah. You logging in through a website or through an email client? If an email client you should be able to get it to block them? Are you actually getting this spam emails in your Inbox or are they being filtered out?

I use both, i've got some keyword filters on the email client, but their are so many variations and mis-spellings of title & sender if pretty ineffective.

I've found it's useful to sort by title, then you can see the 8-10 messages with the same crap all get lumped together.

hi,

these emails are coming from my fastmail account.

just setup a filter as well but i would like to bounce the mail if i could, only just started using thunderbird :-)

Ah well Fastmail. Login, go to your options and tell me what setting your spam/junk filter is set to. I also have Fastmail and its junk management is pretty good for me. :)

Set your email to forward to another email provider and then another, then back, that way it gets scanned four times by different spam blockers :) Bit OTT but it works well.

just had a look and its on basic i never looked at the fastmail settings before so i never knew it was there, i have just set it to normal now unless you have a better setup in mind ?

I have mine on normal. Any spam/junk gets put into the junk folder. I've hidden that folder in Thunderbird so every week or so I log into the Fastmail site and check out the junk folder.

Ironically most of the junk is from people/sites that I already accept so why they get blocked I'm not entirely sure. I believe normal is the lowest setting where extremely probably spam isn't deleted without you knowing about it. If I spent some time adding trusted email addresses etc I could probably trust Fastmail to use the aggressive setting.

Btw may I ask how you heard about Fastmail and how long you've heard of them/been with them? And why did you choose Fastmail?

Been with Fastmail since August 2004. :)

Can't remember how I found it but I know I have mentioned it on OcUK. :)

Very good service I'd say. You happy with it?

yes i am happy with it always dose what its meant to do i even get my push email on my mobile within a few seconds on getting it on my PC, i think i looked at it when i was with wanadoo as i had an email account with them and was getting a hell of a lot of junk mail and wanted to get a new account.

BTW i have three accounts fastmail, gmail, & msn, i tend to use fastmail for most things but still use the others on the odd occasion.
