Hi guys,

Bit of a wierd question this, but last night, we had a gig and the venue was so hot and the lights were so bright on stage that by about half way through, the sweat was running into my eyes and making it really difficult to play guitar. Aside from that it's not very flattering in the photo's :p

Is there any kind of cream or powder you can get to stop this?

Headbands are so in...
Not really to be honest my boyfriends band have the same problem they combat it by moving round so fast its har to keep them in focus.

If you look, most musicians suffer from this, its hot and its your bodies way of coping. Stopping it would probably have bad consequences. Some bands have fans on the front cooling them down, makes your sweat more effective, so you sweat less.

Hehe! that sounds like a lot of work! Headband sounds like a good idea though, I'll have a hunt for a Karate Kid style one :D

Small club + loud music + dancing your ass off =

Been to gigs where you have condensation dripping off the equipment because its that hot.

The basement at Newcastle Uni Students Union circa 1999 (before they sorted out a form of aircon for the place) regularly had condensation literally pouring off the roof.

As some one said earlier, wear a sweat band.

Also, for your arm pits, whack some right guard on, keeps you so dry..

Got to love dank. :D

Listen to your dad.

We place two fans facing us on top of our bass bins and the drummer has one also.
We also have towels for a quick wipe if needed after we've finished a song.
If you sweat really bad then use your roll on across your forehead.
When playing the guitar on stage I put roll on in my palms and rub it in to stop my hands from sweating.
Under no circumstances wear a headband because its soooooo 80's.

slightly OT but what guitar is the guy in the back playing? looks like some modded SG

According to our webpage its a Gibson SG Junior (about 71) and its like pressing metal bars down on a tree trunk. There are no mods on it.
He's just bought another three Gibson SG's recently (two Specials and a Standard) and the Junior isn't used anymore.

UPDATE -
I've just looked at pics of other SG Juniors and i can't find one that looks like it.
I've just sent Gibson an email with attached photo.
