*** Storage at OcUK ***

I remember my dad getting an 80MB external drive for his Mac back in the late 80s. We spent ages just staring at in amazement saying to one another "80MB - just amazing!" "Wow, you could never fill even if you tried." How times change!

Seriously interested in the 4TB here, though a 3TB would be a nice middle point in price if any are likely to drop to similar price ranges?

I remeber a few years ago when the HDD factories is Asia flooded and HDD prices went through the roof. Seems like they're getting back on track now, if only SSD's would come down lower in price though. :(

they are what they are totally understand people who had trouble in the past having brand loyalty else where I had to bring these in to match competitors who are all offering 1 year warranty drives at low prices.

I have only ever used Samsung spinpoint which is now part of seagate.

Been running a dozen 4TB Seagate in NAS for a couple of years and touch wood no issues, extended SMART tests are normal. Also have the 2TB Seagate I bought for backups among many other 1/2TB variants, 2TB is solid in my experience much like 1TB single-platter.

Had more bother with SSDs than HDDs, namely OCZ dying back in the day and those damn 840 PRO's/EVO's slowing down (yes latest firmware with EVO being far worse) :(

I remember cycling to a friends house to see his new CD-ROM drive, we couldn't get our heads around how 600mb+ could be crammed on that little cheap 'plastic disk' after many years of zip disks and floppies lol :D

Edit: Running 4x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB in my NAS box the last couple of years with no problems or failures (they were cheap & on B grade!)
