I'm building a 12900k/Asus Z690i/DDR5 system next week in to a compact 'Cooler Master 200NP MAX' itx case, which only has 18L of volume.
The motherboard has support for 2x M.2 Nvme SSDs, but I was only going to install a Samsung 980 Pro 2TB for now, leaving one slot free for a PCIE 5.0 compatible Nvme in future.
However that 2TB drive will be reserved for Windows/Games and I'm going to need something for storage.
In a bigger sized case I would usually just use a cheap mechanical drive, but it makes more sense to buy either a 2.5" SATA SSD or External drive that I can just plug in via the USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port.
What would be the best option? Ideally I want a 4TB drive.
