Storage Drive recomendations

Looking at buying 2 or 3 1tb drives for my server

Will be used for streaming my dvd collection.

Been thinking of going with green drives since the PC is on 24/7

would i notice any performance difference on a gigabit lan between green drives and normal drives.

any recommendations will be fab

If only to watch a movie, you will not notice the different i suppose.

Get 1.5TB drives - more bytes per £.

The green drives are aimed more towards power saving and slightly slower access times as opposed to something like a F3.

I think they would fit your application mentioned here better. 1.5Tb is nice but, I would rather spread large volumes of data on a server over several "medium" sized drives than fewer "bigger" drives.

get 3 1.5 tb and raid 5 them, giving you 3 tb of space with redundancy, as opposed to 2 1tb drives that are all seperate? But yes use green drives, teh read speeds will easily saturate gbit lan (if they are raided), otherwise they'll be less than gbit's theorectical maximum, but will be fine for everything you can think of.
