Storage HDD disappearing

Basically, Just reinstalled Windows to my SSD and removed my HDD during installation.

Now, when I plugged the HDD in, it was detected in both the BIOS and Windows initially, but whenever I try and access it, it disappears from My Computer, disk management etc

I'm genuinely confused as to whats going on...help!

Seems very odd. Have you checked that all the cables aren't loose?

i had exactly the same problem a few months back and googled it to death.

usual stuff as check cables etc didn't do the trick.

so i went for a driver update. Unfortunately i`m a bit thick when it comes to identifying the relevant stuff, so i used a seemingly well regarded little driver update program...easy... (the clue is there ) and ran a scan that updated everything.

this fixed the little blighter and now i can once again use my storage drive.
usually i`m very dubious (quite rightly) about these all in one updaters/fixers but i must say was quite impressed it fixed it :0
