Hi guys, I have browsed awhile and had an old account that must have been deleted  . In just over two months I am going travelling, my partner and I are hitch hiking around the world and is supposed to take 3-5 years. My current build, which may not be complete, I am still very happy with. My concern is what to do with it, should I try and put all the parts in their own boxes, packed away, or is it okay to leave them all in the case and maybe disconnect the cables? All our stuff will be stored at my mums in her spare room, which can get pretty cold sometimes due to the type of house it is.

Do you need to know the specs to help make the decision?

Despite my build, with the advancement in tech these days, it will probably be out of date a bit when we get back, or just on the borders of what is decent.

Thanks guys for reading and responding.:)

Also, I think this was the right forum to post in.

so three people have said this, even more people would be nice, i heard the 8350 can last for awhile and as long as my hdd and ssds arent running, they will last yea?

Sell as much of it as you can before leaving and it plummeting in value.
Also remember that the warranties will expire while you are away.
Buy new equipment when you get back that will be warrantied and more up to date.

iphone 4s...just to let you know, got a nexus 7 2013 atm though, you think i could get nearly £600? if i keep my hdds

I agree to also sell it, and only keep the HDD if at all.

It will be losing value and you no one would be making use out of it.
