Storage Options?

I'm currently building a little cab, i've managed to survive on 160Gb of space so far but now i'm introducing videos etc i'm in need of more space.

I'm using an old shuttle which only has IDE ports so i've come to the point where I need a bigger drive.

SATA would provide so much more speed but is it worth trying to fit a controller card in there?

Bang for buck wise should I just go and get one big IDE 7200 drive and have done with it or should I buy a controller card?

You won't see any speed increase going from IDE to SATA. Current drives are not capable of saturating the available bandwidth of either interface.

Personally I'd look at a big IDE 7200.10 or WD AAKB.
