We do mirrored backups at work on 2x 4TB HDDs and for some reason one set have both 'corrupted'.

- The drive appearsin Disk Management but without a drive letter
- It appears as Healthy (Storage Spaces Protective Partition)
- All options including Change Drive Letter are greyed out
- DISKPART also sees it as a disk (GPT) but the partition with data on is of an Unknown type
- Setting the partition type to a basic data partition fails

Any other ideas? Given it's both disks it appears the storage pool aspect is corrupted rather than the data itself?

How was this setup? Software raid as in storage spaces? Or hardware array with dedicated controller?

Sorry for the delay, subscribed to the thread now. Software raid via storage spaces yeah.

It's been used multiple times on and off over the course of 2 or so months without issue. It's for backups and it's actually the 26th pair, never had an issue before.
