Hello. I'm redoing my hard drive setup at the moment and need some advice.
Currently I had a 500GB SATA HDD for Windows and an old 300GB HDD for extra storage.
I need more space (more speed is a bonus) so I'm thinking of redoing it as this:
1x Crucial M225 128GB SSD - Windows 7, Games, Office, Photoshop
3x 1TB Samsung SpinPoint F3 in RAID 5 - Apps/Games that don't need speed & General storage, photos, videos, backup, disc images, etc.
Would this be a sensible setup? Is RAID 5 a good choice here?
My motherboard is a gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R.
I've never used any RAID setup before so I don't know if this is a good idea or not. I want some protection against single drive failure, but not sure what the speed impact will be.
Thanks.
