Hi,

I need an enclosure that i can store my old sata drives on and access via my laptop until i finalise my pc spec for my new build.

I am looking for a multi bay enclosure, be it a reasonably priced NAS with no advanced features or an esata & usb enclosure. I dont have esata on laptop but the new pc will have it so I do need it to be usb as well.

Any advice much appreciated :)

ooh i like that shark thingy, be gettin one when its in stock thanks :D

I guess 2 would be ok, I would like more but at this point i am not fussy

Thanks :)

oh i see there's a duo one too. Can you transfer data between the 2 drives? that could be handy!

You'll be able to copy between them but the data will come down to the PC and back again so with USB it's going to be a bit slow (both drives share the same USB link).

ok some quick questions.
1. Do they work ok in general? like if you leave em plugged in for a while do they get too hot?
2. Is there any other diff between the duo and the single? I know about the card reader.
3. the duo being newer is it any better?
4. do u have to shut down to swap drives?

Thanks and sorry for being a pain!
