Currently running my main rig (see sig) on a 256GB Sammy Evo and it's getting full...
Main rig was intended for gaming only and not really storage, I have my old rig and main NAS box for storage but you know how things go...!
Ideally I will phase out the old rig at some point this year with everything on my NAS box. I will be 'upgrading' (probably a mostly new build) soon after Skylake is released as part of my last 'upgrade on a budget' to SB was to save funds (to help justify SL).
I have a couple of options and I can't decide what to do -

I have a couple of options and I can't decide what to do -
- Fork out on a 500GB 840 EVO and new install, using the 256 as a steam/semi-storage drive.
- Grab a 2+TB 2.5" mechanical (hide behind mobo tray with the existing) to tide me over until SL and then fork out on a (possibly PCIe attached) 500GB+ SSD then.
- Grab 2 or 3 more 840 256GB's (MM/'bay) and RAID5 them. Unsure how good the Asus Maximus IV-E's hardware RAID controller is if RAID'ing SSD's??? This would probably involve changing my case or losing some cooling/secondary gfx card due to lack of space too!
