I had a quick search on this forum before I created a thread, but I couldn't any answers.
Recently, I've been filling up my 200GB hard drive bigtime, and now I've got very little space left (Enough to last me about another month or two).
Since there was only 30GB left, I decided to move my videos, music, etc to a separate computer. The problem with this is it has an 80GB hard drive, ~4GB used by Feodora 3 (It was originally a Linux mess around box). Now, obviously, ~170GB is a lot more than ~76GB, so I'll end up running into a storage problem very soon.
These aren't the only computers I can store things on. My sister also has a low-end machine (However it is her only one) with an 80GB hard drive, my mum has a medium-range machine with a 120GB hard drive, and there is a shared laptop with a 20GB hard drive.
I'd really like to refrain from using their computers and the laptop for storage because they are the only PCs they use, and it would be unfair to steal their storage space. They could be used for temprary storage, though. But a larger hard drive is needed here.
It needs to be able to store tons of music, videos, ISOs, logs, etc. At my current rate, 200GB would get filled up within half a year (It'll slow down when there is nothing to download ), and I'd rather not spend too much money upgrading hard drives.
It'll probably have two partitions, one 10GB large so I can install an operating system on it if I get rid of the 80GB HDD in there at the moment.
It needs to be IDE, preferably ~400GB, give or take 100GB if the price is good. If this is unrealistic, it can be smaller, but hopefully not too much.
The budget is £100 inc. VAT, so it'll need to be the best bang for buck HDD.
Note: sound doesn't matter since it is in a separate room, and won't be used much.
