is there anyway in Vista to keep the settings you use for the windows?

I set up My Computer to organise the icons by type, and it will remember the settings a few times...but then all of a sudden, clear it back to sort my name. gets annoying

How can I force windows into keeping my layout permanetly?

Probably the most annoying bug in Vista.

You can download the registry key at the end of the post and that will reset all folder views as well. Then you can just update the folder views and they'll be stored.

great stuff...nothing more annoying than settings the folders up to how you like them only to loose them the next time you open it.
is it the post by stevencn70 with the instructios and registry file? Got to register with the forums I think to be able to download if thats the one
