Storing/Saving files like Word, Excel, PDF on Iphone?

Hi, I am recently new to iPhones, got a 4s.

Used to have Blackberry's for years and I could save onto the Blackberry my word, excel and pdf files and open them etc.

Now on the iPhone, the only way I seem to know how to do this is by sending the particular document as a email to myself and opening them that way on the iPhone.


Is there some easier way for me to have my files on the iphone?
(basically, looking for a app that keeps them all in it for me)

Cloud storage apps like OneDrive, iCloud, Dropbox etc are the best way of accessing these files on your phone.

Also means you don't have to faff about transferring anything between devices.

Google drive also works well.
