Storm Doris

Been blowing a hooley all day down here.

The gf and I heard an almighty great sound like a steam train coming through the house, which turned out to be a massive gust of wind coming down the chimney like I've never heard it before.

Looked up out the front window to see one of the largest trees in the woods just opposite the house crash over. Thankfully it fell sideways into the woods and not towards us as it could have done some serious damage.

******* piece of **** storm, all trains currently suspended out of Euston so i'm stuck down in this dump until they're running again.

Not impressed.

They usually send you to Marleybone station for Chiltern line trains up North via Birmingham. You get off at Birmingham Moor Street and then its a 5 minute walk to New Street. It will be crowded as hell and they're slow trains. Good luck .....

Just noticed my wheelbarrow is on its side. Other than that, not a lot. I notice one of the neighbours has lost their hedge though.
One fatality in Wolverhampton from falling debris :(

I've had four fence panels down and the chimenea has smashed. I also had to detour on when I was out today as a tree was down completely blocking the road!

Euston station is a mess and it's so funny to see the panic on peoples faces and the total lack of decorum because they might be delayed. Trains have just started again and I think the whole of Euston is trying to board them because they are thick. I will give it and hour or so, enjoy the now much emptier lounge and worse case stay down here, but most likely get on a nicely empty train north as I waited and am not a fanny.

Casualties so far are 1 fence panel down (not mine), 1 entire tree (also not mine), 2 plant pots broken (mine :()

Driving home on the dual carriage way in that wind was interesting. Light sports car and heavy crosswind obviously don't mix well at high speed :D

Is this proof of an afterlife? Because the only thing I can think of for a storm named Doris is Malc (4T5) stumbling across the weather control office whilst on an ambrosia bender.

Windy (but sunny and actually quite mild) here yesterday, but today it's just been raining most of the day without much of a gust at all. Seems to have mostly bypassed us.

I've had abit of trouble due to Storm Dorris whilst driving today. I was going round a sharp corner admittedly a little too fast when a huge gust of wind got under me. A pretty scary moment tbh, luckily my friend was driving behind me and caught it on his dashcam:

Well Doris managed to destroy my back passage :o

Few fence panels down but will hopefully go back up, crazy how many tree's have come down on main roads.

Someone put their bottle bin out without some kind of reinforcement. The street is literally covered with bottles. I kid you not. There are plastic bottles. Everywhere.

They better pick them all up or I will just rage internally.
