I'm running a few "test runs" before I import my entire music collection into iTunes and i've noticed something pretty annoying (which tbh - I noticed ages ago, but never really bothered to look into).
Basically, my mp3s are named using the format <tracknumber> - <artist> - trackname.mp3
I've anally tagged all my collection impecibly (using the Album Artist fields where necessary and the 'part of a compilation' tickbox etc etc). So I'm pretty sure this issue isn't due to the way i've tagged the files (at least, i hope not!)
Anyway, onto the issue.
Here's a screenshot of an example compilation album. For some reason, the trackname ALWAYS shows up as: <artist> - <trackname> but once i've clicked 'through' the track on the list, it will magically 'correct' the track name (removing the artist bit, and leaving as just the track name).
In this screenshot, i've imported the compilation, then clicked down the list up to the highlighted track:

As you can see, all the track names up to the track i've highlighted, look 'normal' but the ones I haven't yet clicked on, have got the artist & trackname in them.
To clarify, here's what it looks like once i've clicked through each file on the list

I've tried selecting them all (ctrl-A) but that only seems to 'correct' the first and last of the selection.
I'm not going to import around 50,000 tracks then click through each and every one of them to correct this weirdness - does anyone know of something that might be causing it, and what I can do to fix it? In fact, does this happen to anyone else?
