strange - audio question

is there a way i can play audo direct through my mic?

i.e so i can use audio clips it on skype and voip

i've tried a loop in from the audio out to the headset but it's a bit loud an poor quality

This may sound like a stupid response, but why would you want to play it through a mic?
Technically you can make a mic work like a speaker, but if you don't like what the speakers are giving you allready you won't be pleased by the mic - just look at the size of the diaphram on it.

I think that perhaps I'm not understaning quite what you're asking!?

EDIT - Do you mean "can I loop audio out and directly into the input of the skype/VoIP device?" - I'm sure that can be done, but it may require some mixing...

You can easily damage the microphone as well.

yeah i've not explained too well

I want to play audio over voip by tricking the PC to think t he audio is comming from the mic, when it's actually from am mp3

it depends on what sound card you have.

If you have a creative, then set it to 'what u hear' or stereo mix if you dont in the recording bit of sounds and audio devices

Just change the input (recording) device.

Dead easy to do, i use soundboards on teamspeak (switching the input device) for a laugh sometimes.
