Strange Brigade

Is the single player actually a narrative story, or is it just a series of maps to play through?

It's got a story with an end goal, Before each level there's a video sequence with the 4 man team set in your mobile base and a narrator or two talk to you throughout each level, One's a bit like Bosley in Charlies Angels. There seems to be character specific parts as well, You get to chosse at the start which character you'll be, On a later level I found a hidden entrance to somewhere but I was told the way is blocked to me and that it may be related to a different character, I sank about 16 hours in to it over the weekend and think I'm getting close to the end, I haven't found all the tombs and items on all the levels so I may go back to do each level to find them or I might start at the beginning with a different character to see if I can do that blocked area or found others. The maps are nice, It's visually appealing and well made plus it's getting me ready for Tomb Raider which releases this week.

yeah, that's the thing for me, got Tomb Raider pre-ordered, so Strange Brigade may have to wait until the Christmas sale before I'd have a time to try it out

Same here, I blew this years game budget on Tomb Raider  Luckily Strange Brigade was a freebie for me, Stick it on your Steam wish list so you get a reminder when it goes on sale.

I thought I'd post this copy of a post I put elsewhere here.

Strange Brigade

This AMD supported title released last week, It runs on either the DX12 or Vulcan API's.

It looks good and runs really well, I put around 15 hours into it over the weekend and it's performed faultlessly.

It won't be to everyone's taste though, It's a quirky game set in the early 1900's with very clique characters on an Indiana Jones type expedition to Egypt to stop the dead Queen Seteki from rising from the grave with an army of undead things bent on the destruction of our World. Despite how that sounds it's not a doom and gloom experience, It provides plenty of laughs through the narrator who travels through the levels with you, As I said it's quirky.

I've only played it in single player mode so can't speak for the co-op experience.

I think it's too expensive for what it is but it's definitely worth putting on your wish list so you can grab it during a sale.
