Strange BSOD issue

I just changed my motherboard, power supply and case and I'm getting bsod's whenever I change the fan controller setting on the case (fractal arc midi r2)

It's connected by molex on the same cable as the sata power which my ssd is on.

Sometimes before the bsod the asrock motherboard utility crashes.

I tried connecting another fan via the molex which has manual rpm control and it works fine.

Any ideas?

Here's a screenshot of the bsod info. As you can see it happened 10 times, each within a few seconds after flicking the fan controller switch on the top of the case.

f4 is ssd/hdd related so your fan controller is interfering with the ssd's power imo

try hooking it up from a separate power source, without the ssd attached

I will try that later.

Any other ideas? I really need to figure out if its being caused by the power supply, motherboard or dodgy fan controller so I know who to complain to :)

I researched the error code and it says it says

Bug Check 0xF4: CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION
The CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION bug check has a value of 0x000000F4. This indicates that a process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or been terminated.
Several processes and threads are necessary for the operation of the system. When they are terminated for any reason, the system can no longer function.

can't think of whatelse it can be,f4 is hdd/ssd related so the fan controller is probably sucking power from the ssd? and causing it to crash? idk

Just tried a completely different power supply and same thing happens.

The fan controller is pretty basic and same one as used on the r4 which I had before without issue :/ It's either faulty or a problem with ssd/motherboard. I don't see how the motherboard could be the problem though as its not connected to it.

Forgot to mention the case also arrived with a crack in the window, I'm pretty ****ed off at fractal right now!

your connecting the fan controller power separate from the ssd molex? its not sharing the power cable?

its affecting something as its causing bsod's

They were sharing the same cable with this psu as well but this is the setup I used on my fractal r4 and it didn't crash.

Will restart now and use separate power.

Doesn't seem to be happening now that I've put the fan controller on its own cable.. but what does this mean?

Will run the pc for a while like this to make sure its resolved.

It could still be the fan controller or sdd causing it though. The ssd was running stable as a rock for months without a single crash in another pc (no fan controller was used though) Should I rule out the motherboard?

It means the fan controller is robbing the power from the ssd and causing it to crash

If its working fine now with fan controller and ssd on seperate power cables then I'd leave it at that

That's what I was thinking but once the pc starts its fine until I flick the switch again.

For example its on 5v, then I switch to 12v. BSOD then it restarts itself and it works at 12v until I change it.
