Hi,

I was checking my WC when i saw this.... I do not know if it is algae.. copper corrosion or something else..... I am clearly not an expert so i am looking for any suggestion.. I know it is just a little green spot... but i want to be sure..

I am planning to drain and clean all... I am using mayhems premix solutions in the loop.

Anyone has any idea what could be happening and how to solve it?

Thanks!

Looks like copper patina from a dirty radiator. Guessing it'll be a powdery type residue that gets trapped in low flow/turbulence sections.

Alphacool radiator by any chance?

Was the coolant mayhems pastel white?

To me the white looks tinted slightly greenish. Corroded copper does look like that kind of green cover but you would be hard pressed to get that level of copper corrosion in any normal loop without having some abnormal voltage across the coolant.

Considering the placement i would assume that its something that came out of the radiator and got stuck on the inside wall of the tubing and is slowly being dissolved into the coolant turning your brilliant pastel white to a slight green. If that bit of tubing is the outlet to the radiator, my money would be it is something that was in the rad previous to building.

It wont be algae.

I would drain the loop and have a close inspection of that particular tube and give the rest of the system a flush. I would be hesitant to re-use the coolant without knowing what the green thing is.
