hi all, my son has returned from uni with his desktop pc and for some weird reason it wont connect to the home network. have tried it via both wireless and ethernet connection, direct to router and via homeplug but the pc wont see the network or even show that a new connection is available. strangely, when i check my router settings (its a sky q hub btw) his pc shows up in the devices! he tells me it was working fine in uni on their network both on wireless and ethernet, and he has had no problems browsing or using steam there. here however steam just seems to cycle unconnected/connected every few seconds. i checked task manager and there seems to be no network activity going on. pc also shows on router as having a mac address assigned. cant even check if its a driver prob with the internet adapter on his mobo as it wont go online! am just confused as it only seems to be happenening here at home.....any ideas????

Check that PC isn't set up with a Static IP. Check that PC isn't set up to connect via proxy server.

What does "ipconfig /all" in a Command Prompt give you?
