I've got a Corsair Force 3 SSD which I currently use for my Steam and Calibre libraries but tonight it's started playing funny buggers.
Here's what I've gathered so far:
  • seen in BIOS without issue.
  • open windows explorer & it's there then disappears.
  • event log shows - Event 51 "error on device during paging operation" then 157 "Disk 4 has been surprise removed".
  • reboot the PC and it's still no there.
  • fully power off and on, log in, don't open explorer and run Corsair SSD Tool box - This detects the drive, reports no SMART errors and states up to date firmware (5.5)
It seems the second windows tries to read from the drive it just gives up and you get events 51 followed by 157.

I don't have another system I can try it in atm, will need to wait until Monday when I'm back at work and I don't have an external caddie either.

Has anyone seen this issue before and could offer a pointer or should I just write it off?

make sure the firmware is up to date, try a different sata port and sata cable or even try re seating the current sata cable as something may have come loose.

Thanks for the suggestions ED.
Seems that what ever was happening on Friday night has resolved itself as when using the PC on Sunday and again tonight the drive has been fine....

According to Corsair SSD Toolbox the firmware is up to date but I'm probably not going to tempt fate though and will just buy a new drive.
