Strange going's on with O2 after upgrade

Last night I upgraded from the basic to the premium package as I'm on an O2 employees Friends and Family scheme which make them all the same price. After the upgrade my connection speed halved. As nothing had changed my end I phoned them up to see what's what. They couldn't figure it out so I asked to go back to the basic package. Soon as that happened my connection went back up to what it was before.

Anyone else had problems with the premium package. I only upgraded as it was the same price. Going to stick with the basic one now though lol.

My brother recently went from the basic package to premium (he had exams over the last few months and wasnt using the net much so decided to downgrade), he said it was relatively straight over over the net and his speed jumped from 0.8 mb/s download rates to 1.4 mb/s almost instantly.

In our experience both o2 and be* have been great, never had any problems (touch wood)
