Strange GPU problem.

Being frustrated at stuttering/fps drops when using full Dx11 on Crysis 2, i dropped the res to 1050p and the FPS boost was massive.

Trying to get better FPS still (for fun as i was already getting 45-50 at this point) I was clocking my card back up from stock on afterburner, experimenting with memory vs core clocks etc etc.

Suddenly I get a massive drop in FPS, and no matter what i change back it wont work, and the afterburner in game display is showing 0% load and like 20fps even at pretty mild points. However when I bring up 1920x1080 again im back to like 40fps....why is this.

This also coincides with Kombustor results and fps going really bad (on 1920 not 1680x1050). Is this my card or something ive done.

Other things ive done apart from above are:

Changed airflow and saved 10c off the gpu at load
Used a tweaking guide for forceware i found on here somewhere.

Getting a bit worried tbh.

Also, my Tesselation and Physx performance have dropped drastically.

Oh I just remembered I did update the nVidia drivers as well!

I would try an older driver.

Bit of an update.

Tried rolling back the drivers with no luck, but it seems it is when switching from full to windowed that it starts. And if you start in one res and switch to another, the GPU seems to just die.

This has really got me confused now guys :S lol

Sorry to revive an old thread but after giving it a rest while at reading its still a bit dead.

Tesselation and physx scores now even worse on kombustor but seems the same on other tests other than combined.

Anything else I can try?
