I have just got a new AsRock extreme 7 board of the MM and have a strange issue with one of my hard drives when installing Intel Rapid Storage (IRS)
I have 1 SSD drive, 1 Velociraptor and 2x WD 500gb drives
Windows 7 has been installed using AHCI
Without IRS installed all drives are visible within windows and working fine.
When I install IRS I lose one of the 500gb drives, it appears in Drive managment as un-initialized and the size is incorrect, I get a "file not found" error if I try and initialize it! moving this drive onto another Sata port does not fix the problem.
As soon as I uninstall IRS the drive re-appears and works fine!!
Any ideas?
