Not a real issue but just would like to know why and can it be changed to allow it?
We have about 60 PC's on the network Win XP and 7 mixed.
from the server if you browse the network you see all 60 PC's and a few printers show up.
From any of the Win 7 PC's you do the same browse the network and you only see only some of the 60 or so devices on the network map?
In my case it only shows 19 of the devices
Why? and each time you do a refresh sometimes the odd one will disapear only showing 18 etc.
yet from the Win 7 PC you can type the IP or Hostname of any PC/Device on the network and it displays, even if it's not in the network Map.
Details before you start with the obvious answers:
Windows firewall is off for the whole network and their is no 3rd party one in use.
network discovery is turn on on all PC's and servers
Server is the DC and PC's are on the domain, same subnet etc
have the same IP settings for gateway, DNS etc
all the remote related services are started on every PC and servers
Yet some of the Win 7 PC's do display the whole network Map with all 60 or so devices, I have compaired one system like this to another that displays only 19 and their is not one difference
same PC model, same BIOS/Firmwares etc and even same drivers, logged on as the same user too.
Cant seem to find the answer so any idea's would be good? Thanks in advance
