Strange Issue

Hey all, just figured i'd give the forums a try for help before phoning Overclockers again monday.

Im having a fairly odd problem with my PC, long story short, my programs be it anything, MSN, youtube, websites, games tend to randomly lock up and stop responding for anything between 5-30 seconds, and is rather frequent to the point of unusable.

Thing is I sent the pc in for repair by overclockers with this very same issue and they told me the issue was the graphics card, they replaced it and sent it back. That was roughly a month ago and just yestarday it started again.

Im guessing its hardware releted although im clueless as to what is causing it, 1 thing that does puzzle me is when i first got this issue i reformatted my pc thinking it was a virus.. the PC worked fine for afew months before the problem coming back, a 2nd reformat didn't fix anything so i sent it for repair.

Could be the motherboard then I guess...Or possibly drivers for the graphics card, but I doubt that.

You could scan the ram with memtest maybe, that would rule that out.

Probably be easier to just send it back though in the long run, especially if you have warranty and the like

not sure why that would be the graphics card unless it was the screen freezing. but if programs are freezing while others working or you can move the mouse etc then its not a gpu issue i wouldn't have thought.

I would imagin its the hard drive, possibly ram i spose. Run memtest amd prime95 and back up your hard drive just incase its on its way out if i was you.
