Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can offer some advice on this problem. It's easier to explain if I just show you a picture;

monitor.jpg

about 1/5th of the right hand of the screen has stopped working aswell as a 1 inch strip along the bottom, but it's not actually cutting any of the picture off. Instead, the computer has squashed the resolution inside the working part of the LCD. So, where the time on the taskbar is usually in the bottom right, it is now moved over a few inches to the left. I hope that makes sense.

It does it from a cold boot, not just when it is in windows.

Any ideas what this could be? Warranty ran out last month aswell!

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, it does it in the BIOS aswell. I've tried connecting the laptop to another monitor, which displays the image fine. I'll strip it apart and have a look at the things you suggested.
