Strange Line noise issue

Hi guys, right I cannot for the life of me work out exactly wat the problem is but until 2moro or friday I cannot get to the test socket to do a quiet line test or anything, but heres wat happens;

the line can get disconnects/reconnects on its own but is pretty much guarenteed to disconnect when an incoming call comes in, this is the test i do to see if it happens:

ring 17070 (bts line test number), select ring back test, put the phone down,

the phone rings from the test and the noise margin on my router (on the upstream only) starts to dip from 6db to 4-5db, it either continues to dip to 0db then goes crazy and reads 99-100db or I miss the dip and just see the 99db-100db before the line stops reading any stats and disconnects, usually if the phone is still in use the line will reconnect syncing at about 20db (600-700kbit upload, whereas the usual 6db gives around 1.6mbit upload), the disconnect problem is seen whether i am on annex m or normal (upload+ feature on Be Broadbands pro package).

this seems to happen more often in the evening although can happen in the day time (i realise lines are perhaps busier in the evening).

One other thing about the randomness of the problem, I can have 30mins-1hour of constant disconnects at any time, although i tend to notice it around midnight-3am.

Is there any people who have had similar experiences and can help me with this problem? Tomorow or friday I will be drilling a hole in the back of a cupboard in the kitchen to get to the master socket (previous owners were absolute idiots and build cupboards in the way of the master socket so its impossible to take off the lower half of hte socket to do a quiet line test right now)

thanks

ah ye i should have mentioned, everything that can be replaced before getting access to the socket has been. and the line was fully stable on 3db speed profile with gaming mode activated on be's member centre for over a month (since i signed up)

so i have tried 2 different routers, 2 dsl cables, 4 adsl filters, switched from wireless to homeplugs although i know that wasnt/isnt the cause i just hated wireless..

the only thing i havent been able to replace are the phones, while there is extension wiring there is only one phone and the router plugged in the master socket, nothing in the others, the primary phone is a cordless which has 2 additional handsets around the house (which dont need to plug into sockets ofc)

well i was actually thinking it might be to do with the bellwire, but its weird how it only does the noise fluctuation on the upstream, the downstream seems to remain stable (until ofc the whole line is disconnected),....

il try the radio thing 2moro, and one thing.. about the bellwire.. if i do find that its connected still in the master socket, and disconnect it myself will BT know/charge for this if it comes down to me having to call out an enginneer?, would I get away with saying "the previous owners must have done it" since my mother only moved into this house about 6months ago.

as to the weather thing, I did find the majority of problems started once we started having major rain after having a very dry few weeks... but since those 2 days the line has been extremely inconsistant with weather now, it can remain fully stable in rain atm for example.

right, got access to the master socket,. no wires were connected to the terminals on the faceplates back... im guessing they are only wired up on extensions?.. anyway just need to wait for an analogue phone (someone shud be bringing me one tonight) to do the quiet line test now, gona try the radio thing suggested

Have you removed all microfilters? Just changing the one the router is on won't help as any other of the extension sockets could potentially introduce noise to the ADSL frequency band.

as far as i can see there are no other sockets just the master socket, there is an extension in the living room thats been wired in (afaik) but i have a filter on the end of that... its weird

WARNING TERRIBLE PHONE IMAGES BELOW ^^

found this underneath the cupboards today:

seems to not affect anything when i took it out, looks like a simple/crap extension, so i disconnected it....... doesnt seem to have affected the dsl/phone yet

heres the crappy situation i had with the cupboard.. have hacked a portion of it away today (well my gramps did haha).. so annoying how the last occupants thought it was a good idea to put the cupboard in the way of the socket:
