Strange little problem when switching on

Hi,

Got a slight concern with my PC.

It's fairly old (P4 3ghz HT, Gigabyte Springdale board, 1GB DDR Ram, 9800pro and an Antec Trueblue 480w PSU).

I switch the power off at the mains every night when I'm finished with the PC. The next day when I get home from work I switch the power on at the mains and all the lights on my case fans light up and start to spin, but only for a second. Then I turn the power on at the front of the case and off I go.

Is this anything to be concerned about? I've tried using the switch on the back of the PSU as well and I've tried a different surge protector that all my PC equipment is plugged into and it still does it.

Should I just be leaving the mains on while I'm not using it?

Thanks

This sometimes is normal behavour, Does the computer normally work after its little spin up?

Yeah, it powers up fine and works flawlessly for hours on end!
I'll be honest, it's being doing this for quite some time, only it's now started to concern me a little.

TBH i wouldnt worry about it, I work at a college most of the computers here are Dell GX520's, and when disconnected from the power and then plugged back in and power resupplied some of them flash the power symbol, and you hear the fan power on for a second, but some dont do this.

So i wouldnt worry mate, should be ok, if it works then dont worry, My computer at home when i power it on, it some times plays silly buggers, lol,

i powers on, but i refuses to load windows, I will post check ok, then move on to CPU detection, see its over clocked, then check the system memory, then try to find the IDE devices, if it does not find them, well it tries to say, detecting IDE devices, if i dont say this it will restart and try again, but once it finds the IDE devices it works fine with no issues. lol, i kinda got used to it.
