Hiya, I have just purchased 4 gb of OCZ PC2-8500C5: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...al Channel Platinum Series DDR2 (OCZ2P10664GK)

but with my P5Q Deluxe board, bios 1406 (latest) CPU-Z is saying that its PC2-6400 (400mhz) and not detecting it as 533mhz. I have obviously checked the sticks and the stickers on them say 8500C5 so should be ok.

Is this just one of those weird things and I should set the memory timings and voltage manually?

Cheers

You need to manually set the BIOS to the stated memory timimgs. Your motherboard will be reading the preset SPD timings and using those.

Like ns400r mentions you will need to manualy setup the voltage, speed and timmings in the BIOS, the information should be printed on each memory module.

CPU-Z will show the memory as PC2 - 6400 but will show the correct speed.
