Strange Mobile phone problem

I have a Blackberry 9700 with Vodafone,had the phone around 12 months the signal has always been fine where i live.

My signal now since last night keeps completely going, so im left with sos, sometimes the signal is full sometimes but i cant dial out or text at all with a full signal or without??

I put the sim in a friends phone today on the way to work in dartmoor prison and the sim card was fine,i then put the sim back in my phone and all was ok i could dial out and text

Just got back home and the network signal was full but i still cant dial out or txt,i then restarted the phone and the signal has again gone to sos.

Like i said never had any issues at all at home with Vodafone until now,i rang Voda last night twice,but had 2 foreign call centre staff who i couldnt understand.

Im not sure if its the phone or the network in my area,just seems funny a few minutes up the road all was fine.

Not even sure if CPWH where i bought the phone can help if i go there the weekend?

Has anyone had a similar issue?

I'm not sure if Vodafone have one, but a couple of the providers have a page online where you can check signal in your area, that's about all I can suggest really, although not sure it sounds like a network issue as up the road it's fine, but again it seems odd that the phone wouldn't work in certain areas, and seems to be much more like a problem related to signal.

Still cant dial out or receive calls or txt yet?

Sometimes the signal is full,but this makes no difference as i still cant make any calls or txt,the signal is mostly on SOS all day/night

What is really strange is when i drove about 2 mins up the road from where i live the phone then worked ok,once i drove back phone is dead again

My mate whos on vodafone had no problems when in my area the other day.

I went to CPW earlier but the queue was silly so im going to go there Sunday morning and see if they can help,Vodafone are useless on the phone,the worst CS ive had by a mobile network.

Obviously its either the Blackberry or the Vodafone network thats the problem,in not sure which one
